Lately I’ve been studying  the world of magazine editors ,I am curious about the way they live their careers ect. I find that fashion editors at upscale Western magazines are rarely of African descent (if I’m wrong ,please correct me) so when I come across the profile of  Virginie Dhello the Congolese French fashion editor for Air France Madame Magazine of course I am in a hurry to share. With no journalism & styling backgroung but  with a strong passion for fashion she got her start in the 1990′s at the magazine L’Officiel. Since then her curriculum vitae stayed enviable, she has worked for magazines such as Biba, Grazia Italia & Glamour for 5 years. She’s recognized for her one of a kind personal  style by magazines like Vogue France,The Coveteur. When she’s not buzy styling photo spreads & and attending fashion shows, she shares her love for beautiful things & fashion

Laura Douglas grew up in Birmingham in a conservative musically enclined home. Both her parents loved music, her father was especially a jazz fan. As a child, she wasn’t really encouraged to listen to pop music , rather she had to take piano & violin lessons. Her classical background, her ear & appreciation for classical music & instruments is easily felt in her music.I am fascinated by the fact that she’s  only 26 years old yet the intricacy of her musicality is wise beyond her years.I am not a musician but in her songs like ” Can’t wait with the world” I can hear each instrument clearly. She is said to be the next big thing in 2013, yep her days as a receptionist at the Birminghan Conservatoire are long gone. Of those days behind her desk , she remenbers meeting many classically trained musicians and dreaming of one day collaborating on

I love this actress; I find her beautiful, brilliant… a class act! I’ve been meaning for a while to talk about her on this platform but..I guess today is the dia:) You may have seen her act along the side of  the late Whitney Houston in the Sparkle movie remake but if you haven’t please do, she was amaaazing in it. Carmen may be a new face for some of us but she’s been working as an entertainer for a while in the UK.She was a presentator on the UK Disney chanel as a young’un. She is noted for her role in the TV drama “Sally Hamings: An American Scandal”. On the personal side, she lives in NY with her two children and equally brillian actor hubby, Mr Jeffrey Wright.I love this couple, they seem grounded, not looking for fame yet still delivering the goods, real artists! This year she is

Good Morning er’body:) Hope you are doing wonderful & are ready to “attack” your day:) “Being technically perfect isn’t the only goal, nor is it why I dance.” So browsing through the net as usual, I found out accidentlly about Fana a beautiful & gifted artist with the renown dance company Alvin Ailey. Reading through her blog with the dance company,I gathered that she trained with various teachers at different schools such as the Ballet Madison, the Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, the Ailey School … Reading her blog and looking at her performance pictures, I’m left thinking that her life could easily be translated on the big screen. I have a huge respect for dancers because it surely takes great discipline, strong passion & focus to get there.  She has a huge respect for choreographer Judith Jamison for pushing her to go further in the expression of movement. Her

Hello you guyz, it’s vraiment been a solid minute:) I hope all is well & that despite the hurdles we all face, vous gardez la joy:) This upcoming first  weekend of December( Saturday Dec’ 1st & Sunday Dec’2nd) ,my brave & innovative friend Astu Seck is hosting for the second time in a row, le Salon du Bien Etre! I’m really excited about it, it’s a great initiative where women & men discover great natural products such as natural oils, skincare products, hair products. But that’s not all, last year I chatted with a Malian lady who makes homemade liquid soap for cleaning dishes, nice right! It’s also a great opportunity to chat and learn from various experts, for example this year I’m really excited to talk with a yoga expert; I really would like to experience more of that soothing yet demanding sport this upcoming year so I can

Rahme Wetterich & her sister Marie Darouiche came up with a cool african inspired version of the traditional Bavarian Dirndl.Their brand Noh Nee is nicely accepted by local fashionistas in their hometown Munich.I love the colors, the little tablier it reminds me of my childhood when we would wear little dresses like this paired with ballerinas.Nice to see that we can still do it as adults represent our culture yet stay modern. If you pay close attention to the dresses , you’ll see that they mix and match various fabrics, they may use a wax fabric and pair it with an animal print fabric, little details def’ make a difference.http://www.dirndlalafricaine.com Yaye

I totally get what executive producer Nosarieme Garrick is trying non will do with this 8 Parts documentary (the series will be available mid 2013) on what  Africans are really doing.I gets the project so much because that’s what my webbie is about; showing our talents and our thirst for growth.Nosa has written for publications like Afripop,Sahara Reports so she knows what she’s talking about. In the trailer she goes to her home country Nigeria and meets up with a nigerian photography collective and follows them as they carry on with their projects. In the kickstarter video she interviews people like Sean Jacobs  the founder of “Africa is a country”, Tigist Selam an Ethiopian German actress and other fabulous african media key players .So the plan is to start shooting in Africa starting October, meeting young people with cool ideas making it and bringing social change in our continent. There’s a big
