So this was nice..Fatou, Miss Clodia and pretty Vanessa 4 very
different African women with 4 different personalities but a common
interest in all women things got together at Alkimia..if u’ve been on
the blog u’ve heard me talk abt it…

    Anywhoo since we didn’t
think of making reservations we had to sit Japanese style ..on the
floor..yep me and my skirt..lol anywhoo…over shrimps and saumon and
veal for some of us we chatted abt guess what..m..e..n lol

    Oh
boyyy was there a lot to share…lol we all agreed to say that a
woman’s life is hard…..btw kids, jobs , trips, hubbies ect…finding
the right balance…it’s simply not easy..

    But you know what
breaking the routine meeting around dinner like this…stolen yet
planned little things like that..are absolutely worth it…

    Being
in the company of positive women it’s just encouraging …it just shows
that there are other women out there who share some of our general
ideals in life..it enriches you with their different experiences and
    outlooks in life…

Yeah in 2009 I’ll do more of those women sharing things..:)

Anywhoo sharing some of my fav songs lately..im nottttt a die hard hip hop fan but this  song does it for me..go figure… I guess when I listen to this song I think of a brotha or a sista who’s fighting for their dreams, their goals and singing their determination ‘I get in till the sunrise..eeee’ when he speaks money and all of that i think whatever is sucsess to one…thats how i get through the song…loves it ….:)

So when u hear it think of ur sista all the way in Dakar ….eeeeee

  • It’s Her Bday…and My thoughts on the Musee des Forces Armees/Dakar Senegal…

I know I always mix the arts and some type of celebration on my posts…

Anywhoo it was my best friend Rica bday yest..and we deciced to catch dinner with her sister in law Bigue at la Palmerais de Dakar…

We all had a craving for crepes…if you do go..try the berta..with shrimps onions and bechamel, gratine, and cheese…suculent..for those on a date..the portions are huge as well so u and the boo can share…We ended up staying discussing laughing for a long time actually…time does really fly when you have a good time:)

In the morning I went to visit the museum des Forces Armees de Dakar…I realy enjoyed this cultural place, I learned so much about the laptos de Goree, les tirailleurs senegalais, I learned about Macoud Fall the first Senegalese officier of the French Army…

They did a great job with the pictures with the dolls that represent these courageous men, reacting their lives, my guide Mr Ndong one of the artists there explained that when the tirailleurs senegalais would go to war they wives would join them to help them reload their guns..ect

Actually at the museum you can see some of the guns used that were made around 1880..I mean history koi

I learned about the last tirailleur senegalais who died around the age of 100..Mr Ndong was really upset that this man never really received the respect that he was due even the interest actually in his life ect..and I feel like we could have learned so much from this man…

If you do go please enter the room called ‘La guerre des Tranchees’ it so well reproduced..you really feel the war the state of urgency ect…

    Bref I loved it…
