  • Just can’t put this book down “La Balade du Sabador”

Chetetetetete this book is killing me..

First of all let me start by giving a shout out to les 4Vent/one of Dakar’s oldest bookstore chain..there are 2 4 Vent stores in Dkr and lucky enough for me one is in my neighberhood…

I went to see what they had and Oh My God…they had this whole section on African authors…oh the dream..I was so excited…and I  plan on reading most of these books by the end of this year…lucky for me and not so much for my pocket I’m a really fast reader…..so this should not be too difficult…

So I left with 2 books:

    1. AYA DE YOPOUNGO-GREAT BD BY AFRICAN AUTHOR ...Aya de Yopoungo – a BD by an author from Ivory Coast, Marguerite

Abouet ..this was the tome/II ..Loved it planning on buying tome /III..what did I say abt my pocket…lol

2.”La Balade du Sabador” by Sokhna Benga is to “die for” I just can’t put this book down..I came to work and kept reading for an hour abt the lives of twin sisters N’goye and Maye…this book talks abt so many different things like the submission that Senegalese women had to endure sometimes to their fates often decided by men, it also touches upon the metaphysical life, the connection btw human life and the “djine” spirit in wolloff…excellent I’m on page 320 and I can’ t wait to read some more till page 620 it’s that good…

    Aight back to work..lol

  • Story about Perseverance,Persistence and Patiente in Islam

    Whispering Prayer by Philipe Sainte-Laudy
    Whispering Prayer by Philipe Sainte-Laudy

“One day I decided to quit…I quit my job, my relationship, my Spirituality…I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. God, I said. Can you give me one good reason not to quit His answer surprised me…

Look around, God said. Do you see the fern and the bamboo? Yes, I replied.

When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

God said, in the third year there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.

God said, and then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots.

Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.

God said to me, did you know, my creation, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you.

Don’t compare yourself to others. God said, the bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful. Your time will come, God said to me. You will rise high.

I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. God will never give up on you!

Moral: In life never lose hope and never give up or quit in life and Success will come to you later in life”

    http://www.ezsoftech.com/stories/mis4.asp

Sometimes we feel defeated and we may think what’s the point of this life, why are we put on this earth …

We are  to prove to Allah or God that we believe unconditionally on Him..and I’m sure that if He was to count the number of times we gave up He would not think that we believe in Him…..But He’s full of mercy and of forgiveness

If He chose to count everything we did to Him none of us will make it into his garden

Everyday we sin but no matter what He’s ready to forgive us and accept us with the + and -…

Anywhoo I read this story and I felt that it could be encouraging to all of us who have faith, need faith ect…
