I wasn’t a big museum fan as a teen but I’ve come to appreciate paintings ..to stand in front of one and wonder what the artist wanted to convey through his brushes or simply let my imagination flow..
For now this Gallery is my fav’ in Dakar…I wish I could say that the Museum of Dakar was great but unfort’ it’s not …they really need to revamp it.
The Gallerie on the other hand is just alive everywhere you turn you discover pieces of our continent with pieces collected by the late Marthe Everle and her husband Claude
I actually got the chance to meet this unique and passionate art collector, he brieflt gave the history of the Gallery ect..
It’s worth visiting so if it’s saturday morning and you are bored for example why not please your eyes and enjoy our heritages..
