    ” I am emotional but I can’t let go.”

    Carl Thomas

Hello guys , it’s been a little while :)I hope life is treating you well. The year is winding down quickly , can’t believe we are at the eve of November. A few weeks ago ,I decided to get a full body massage @ Ryad Al Sultan Spa. I have been a regular there for over a decade now. Any time I go to the spa, the beautiful ladies that work there ask how old my child is now. When I told him that she turned 13 years old this year they could not believe it. I remember organizing a spa day there with girlfriends of mine over 14 years ago. We had a wonderful time, as life unfortunately has it I haven’t talked much to some of my girlfriends that were present that day. One sadly transitioned a few years ago.She was very sick yet took the time to attend the spa date. In retrospect I realize that she did that for me and her.

This year her daughter passed her baccalauréat.I know her mother would be so proud ! It’s fascinating how her and and I passed the baccaulerat together decades ago.May she keep resting in peace, Ameen:)

I was really tired and informed Mbayang the masseuse that my whole body was tensed up. What I particularly like about this spa is the quietness that surrounds it. I love that you could get in the spa and not meet other guests.I enjoy the anonymity that the place provides. J’ai glissé dans un des peignoirs and was guided towards ma cabine.I was not in the mood to talk much and explained to Mbayang that my back was holding lots of tension. She has been working there for decades and have trained many girls there. I asked her about one of the young lady who used to work there and I was shocked to learn she has passed away.I could not believe it , she was beautiful tall and ambitious. Life is truly short!

Mbayang worked every muscle of my body vigourisly .In my head I was thinking “slow down Mbayang” lol. I usually like relaxing massage but she explained that I had lots of knots in my body .I believe in her expertise and slowly allowed myself to relax for the next 60 minutes. I got lost in my thoughts and promised myself that once a month if finances allow it I will get a monthly massage. As I get older I am aware that self care is important .Being soft and caring toward myself is celebrating my own feminity and womanhood. It enriches my inner self! Those little moments of self pampering celebrate the woman in me.Nobody will do it for me ! After my massage I was guided towards the lounge where I enjoyed traditional tea and leur legendary almond paste gateau. I took my time sipping my tea and enjoyed the silence surrounding me. After that “slow life moment” ,I got dressed said my goodbyes to the ladies and of I went:)

    Until next time InshAllah:)
