Who is Maurice Bejart: One of the most prominent European dance choreographers of our century
Why would they honor him all the way in Dakar: Simply because he loved our Africa, he saw the beauty of our dance and thought it was important to bring Western techniques in order to dev’ African Dance. In Dakar helped by Germaine Acogny he founded the Mudra Afrique School….
Why did I want to attend: The energy from the dancers that we
re from various parts of West Africa..the fro-atitude….curiosity abt the Bejart legacy…curiosity abt the Acogny myth
Verdict: Beautiful, interesting, lovely evening
Fav’ part: Seeing all these ‘natural” African brothers and sisters on top of a Senegalese stage performing for the very first time some of his most extraordinary pieces…

Home Decor..so no more bibelots everywhere and anywhere rite??
Non non I’m serious…please let’s start branching out….
C’est promis we are now revamping our homes and styles fron now on…
Thank you the Gaye, Ipend and Diop for letting me into their homes…

No more standard deco..but time for personal style ..for the new Mrs:)

Cows..
Cows..
The thing not to do: Run over them..I know I may sound sarcastic but true of true the legend has it that if you do their owners will blast of you bad luck..true or not if you are smart enough I don’t think you will want to find out…
I do think that it’s smart to have cows running free in an urban city such as Dakar..but MAYBE..just maybe it’s things like this that remind us of the authenticity of our continent..of the rural way of life we used to live…
Cows Cows..I shall let you go….pardon’ooo no problem man
But on the “real de real” c’est pas normal deee

Current Mood: Tired
The song: Morning by Jean Baylor member of Zhane
The place: Andaloss a lebanese restaurant on Sandienery Street in Downtown Dakar..from the outside..mmm nahhh
But once inside the warm red tones and Marocan theme of the restaurant had Marieme and I thinking: ‘Oh Ok”
The Service: Badd ..they either need to add people to their staff or teach their current employees on how to be quick and welcoming
Example: Asked for a glass or water before my meal..didn’t get it until after we had lunch…
Would I recomend it: Yes because it’s discreet and cosy
The plus: Andaloss does take away they have a tea salon , pastry shop and a butcher shop..all on Sandienery Street…
The clientele: business people during the day…
Till next time Marieme:)

I don’t want to believe that it all can only happen abroad
I don’t want to believe that we all have to accept the current vision of our continent
